CICS Transaction Server 6.3 Installation overview

The CICS system has been installed and configured according to instructions in the Program Directory and CICS Installation Guide. The DFHISTAR installation method was used. CICSPlex, Web User Interface and MVS Logger are not active.

To start CICSTS63 from the z/VM Control ID:

SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG START CICSTS63

To stop CICSTS63 from the z/VM Control ID:

SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG F CICSTS63,CEMT P SHUT

The CICS startup procedure is kept in SVTSC.PROCLIB(CICSTS63). The default DFHCSD group lists are DFHLIST and ISVLIST. The VTAM APPLID is CICSTS63.

It is important to read this guide if you will be using Db2 on the remote z/OS system.

To start Db2 V13 from the z/VM Control ID:

SEND ETPGyyy \\CP VI VMSG -DBDG START DB2

To stop Db2 V13 from the z/VM Control ID:

SEND ETPGyyy \\CP VI VMSG F DBDGADMT,APPL=SHUTDOWN

IMS V15 Instructions and Information

IMS maintenance is applied to all Remote Access systems on a monthly basis. It is your company’s responsibility to complete any hold actions required for the installation of the maintenance.

Notifications regarding IMS maintenance will be sent to you. If these emails are not being received or if additional people need to be added to our IMS maintenance notification list, please send an email to etpadmin@us.ibm.com.

HLQ for IMS V15: DFSF10

With the IMS Repository, the Catalog and Managed ACBs, and additional enhancements set up for your IMS environment, the new startup and shutdown procedures will be the following.

Note: The commands below are submitted from the z/VM Control ID and sent to the z/OS console. The procedure names should match whichever version of IMS you are starting or stopping.

To start IMS 15 from the z/VM Control ID:

  1. Start the IRLM address space:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG S IMS15RL1

  2. Start the Repository server address space. This is necessary for the WTOR message to appear as IMS is enabled with the IMSRSC repository:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG S IMS15RS1

  3. Start the Control Region. This also starts the Structured Call Interface (SCI) with the procedure name IMS15SCI; Operations Manager (OM) with the procedure name IMS15OM1; and Resource Manager (RM) address spaces with the procedure name IMS15RM1 during this initialization:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG S IMS15CR1

  4. Cold start -OR- warm start depending on your environment needs:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG ##,/NRE CHKPT 0 FORMAT ALL

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG ##,/NRE

  5. Start the Open Database Manager address space:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG S IMS15OD1

  6. Start the IMS Connect address space:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG S IMS15HWS

To stop IMS 15 from the z/VM Control ID:

Note: Respond to the IMS WTOR first, not the IMS Connect WTOR.

  1. Simple checkpoint:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG ##,/CHE SNAPQ

  2. Shutdown of IMS, choosing from either FREEZE, DUMPQ, or PURGE depending on your environment needs:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG ##,/CHE FREEZE | DUMPQ | PURGE

  3. Terminate the address spaces for SCI, OM, RM, and ODBM in succession with this command, choosing either CSLLCL or CSLPLEX. CSLLCL shuts down the common service layer (CSL) address spaces associated with a single z/OS in the IMSPlex; CSLPLEX shuts down the CSL associated with all z/OS images connected in the IMSPlex:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG F IMS15SCI,SHUTDOWN CSLLCL | CSLPLEX

  4. Stop the Repository Server address space:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG P IMS15RS1

  5. Shutdown of the IMS Connect address space. Reply ##,CLOSEHWS to the IMS Connect WTOR -OR- purge the address space directly:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG ##,CLOSEHWS

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG P IMS15HWS

  6. Stop the IRLM address space:

    SEND ETPGyyy \CP VI VMSG P IMS15RL1

IBM MQ 9.2.0 Instructions

To start queue manager CSQ9 from the z/VM Control ID:

Application Development Foundation for z/OS V5.0

The Application Delivery Foundation for z/OS V5.0 product has been installed on your z/OS RDP system.

The host product code of CICS Transaction Gateway 10.1.0 has been made available to your system. In order to use the product you will need to customize and configure it. The high-level qualifier for the product datasets is CTGA10. Additional installation information is located in dataset CTGA10.SVSC.README(XINSTALL).

z/OS Connect EE Unlimited 3.0 Installation Information

System Backups

IBM performs backups of the virtual guest systems on a regular (weekly) basis and the media used for the backups are stored on-site, only. Included in these backups are the data disks which together comprise the guest systems. The purpose of the backup is to provide a level of opportunity for the recovery of data in the event of a catastrophic disk failure. The backups may also be used to recover data for a guest system though, due to unforeseen circumstances, there is no assurance that recovery of data for a guest system will be successful. IBM encourages all program participants to regularly save a copy of their data to a location of their choosing. The data stored at the IBM ISV Center should never be the only copy of the data.

The techniques used for saving data will vary depending on the guest operating system in use and are discussed in the User’s Guide and Reference applicable to your guest operating system under “Support Documents” on the https://dtsc.dfw.ibm.com/public website.

Program Termination

Your enrollment in the IBM Z Remote Development Program (RDP) will not automatically terminate. You may choose to terminate your enrollment in the RDP at any time by providing IBM written notice at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of the termination. The effective date will be the last day of the calendar month to coincide with the end of the of the monthly invoice cycle.

Optional VPN Feature Information

The following information is for ISVs that requested the VPN Feature for their system under the IBM Z Remote Development Program.

Before logging in to the remote system, a connection to the VPN must be established. This is done by using the Cisco Secure Client (formerly AnyConnect).

An option to download the Cisco Secure Client will be provided. It is only available to enable a connection to the assigned IBM machine that’s part of this program offering. When the remote access is terminated, the license to use the Cisco Secure Client will expire and the client must be removed from the system(s).

Instructions for accessing the Cisco Secure Client are available on our Secure Website: https://dtsc.dfw.ibm.com

A pop-up window will appear, requesting a Username and Password. Use the assigned z/VM User ID that was provided in a separate email. The user ID will be in this format – ETPDyyy. After logging in, proceed to the “Secure Information Center” section and click on “Remote VPN Client Access”.

After the VPN connection has been established, connect to the remote system with a TN3270 emulator for z/OS, using the guest system IP address identified in the delivery email.
